Tell us a little about your company:
Hedley Wright Wine Merchants has been a trusted name within the wine industry for quite some time. There are currently 3 of us running the business, Paul, Jamie, and Dom. Between the 3 of us, we’ve a combined experience of nearly 100 years in the wine trade! We are fiercely independent, and taste through some 5000+ wines every year in our quest to find our customers the very best products at the very best prices… How do we make our choices? Our entire ethos is, ‘if we don’t want a second glass, then neither will you.’

What are the main ways you use your internet connection?
We use our internet connection here at the shop to help us run our online store, a part of the business that has seen growth of over 60% since we started using IDNet for our connection, which has contributed hugely to the level of productivity of web development. We also use our internet connection when making transactions in the shop, and the connection we have has meant that each card tap is taking no longer than a blink of an eye to go through.
How else do you benefit from a fast / stable / secure internet connection?
One of the largest benefits is how efficiently we are able to work on the website, which this year has seen the largest increase in organic growth since its inception. Our phoneline is also digital VoIP and since being so, the line has been the clearest we’ve experienced, and the pre-message our callers get before they reach us has slowed down the rate at which we receive spam calls immensely.
How long have you been an IDNet Customer and why did you chose them?
We have been a customer with IDNet for 6 months or so, and we chose them because they have such a wonderful reputation amongst friends and other business owners for not only being remarkably reliable in their product, but also within their customer service – however, we’ve not had a reason to use the customer services yet!
What do you like best about IDNet?
As a service provider, we really value their genuine want for connection and wanting to work alongside their customers in order to make sure that they’re constantly at the top of their game, but that also, they do stuff like this, which is a great help for smaller businesses such as ours to create a broader outreach.
Have you had any bad experiences with ISPs in the past?
We have, unfortunately. 2 of our previous ISPs not only provided a product that was constantly on the blink, but also had terrible customer service – when you could get through to them.
How important is working and trading ethically to your business?
We’re in the wine trade. It really is a big thing for us here. In an industry where the supply chain is huge from the point of the customer taking it home, all the way back to the guys that work on the vines, it’s very important that we make sure that we work alongside producers that work ethically.
