Evesham, located in a beautiful part of the UK close to Cheltenham and Stratford-upon-Avon, is often cited as a great place to live. But as local resident Vickie Beasley noted, the Town had been underserved by Openreach leaving locals frustrated by poor speed and patchy service. But things were about to change with the arrival of FullFibre Heroes into the area.
Vickie has worked in finance for over 30 years. She recently branched out with a business partner to establish a professional services and consulting firm. Libra Office Systems specialises in the property sector and provides everything from accounting and bookkeeping to business plans, regulation advice and project management.
IDNet were the first ISP Vickie called to assist with a business internet connection. “My previous employer had used IDNet for over 15 years, so I had first-hand experience of their high quality service. Often operational responsibilities or anything to do with facilities management fell to me. On the odd occasion we needed assistance, Steve at IDNet was my go to guy. So, when my business was looking for an ISP who else was I going to call?”.
An availability search on IDNet’s website soon showed that Vickie’s area in Evesham was newly served by FullFibre Heroes (an alternative network to BT Openreach). IDNet were one of the first ISP’s to partner with FullFibre Heroes so a Gigabit Symmetrical connection was quickly ordered installed at the business premises.
“The new connection is great!” beams Vickie. “All our business software is cloud based, we are fully digital for voice comms, plus a lot of client interactions are conducted over video. So far its been perfect. Calls are crystal clear and the speed doesn’t drop at peak times, unlike some ISPs I’ve used in the past. Additionally, I know IDNet provide 24/7 support, so we have peace of mind for the business.”
Vickie was so happy with the service, she also commissioned a similar Gigabit Symmetric connection for her home, which was also within the local FullFibre Heroes footprint. “It might seem over the top for a residential set up” says Vickie. She continues, “but I have a husband who is an avid online gamer and a daughter who needs to study, plus I want the option of working from home when the need arises. As a family, we regularly stream movies and catch up services. We are very much a heavy-internet-use family!”.
“Not everything went as expected with the home install” admits Vickie. “There was some minor unforeseen building works required to run fibre cable from the street pavement to the house. It involved the coordination of contractors to navigate our patio paving slabs. I could see things were going to get tricky, so I just messaged Steve at IDNet and he managed all the liaison for me. Everything was handled professionally and we were up and running in no time.”
“Would I recommend IDNet? One hundred percent! Any ISP’s can be great when everything is running smoothly. It’s only when you need back up that you really find out who the heroes are. Connectivity is so important these days, and I’m delighted to have IDNet in my corner for both home and business. Often ISPs can over promise and under deliver. This is definitely not the case with IDNet.”
